Last night’s 24th British
Independent Film Awards hosted a red carpet chock full of
eye-catching ensembles, from demure elegance to unexpected
avant-garde. Taking place at Old Billingsgate in London, the event
saw standout style moments from
Kate Beckinsale, The Morning Show’s
Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and
The Crown’s Emma
Corrin.
Integrating some of the most
well-known and prominent faces in British film with burgeoning
fresh faces, the awards have been working towards highlighting the
full bandwidth of talent in British cinema. Mirroring that concept,
the red carpet saw ablend of
classic glamour and unanticipated contemporary designs, melding the
new with the old, both exuding peak luxury
nonetheless.

Attending as a presenter,
Beckinsale walked the red carpet in a crisp alabaster column gown
with tailored beaded sleeves and a cascading structural cape detail
by designer
Jenny Packham. Also presenting,
Gugu Mbatha-Raw was a vision in a muted beige sequined Galvan
London gown, evoking an effortless glamour and a quiet elegance.
The actress kept her beauty in line with her ensemble,
maintaining a simplistic and natural bronzed
glow.

In keeping with her typically
quirky style, actress
Emma Corrin‘s BIFA red carpet appearance comes as no
surprise.Donning a custom
wisteria matching set from Brazilian designer Marco Ribeiro, the
rising star color blocked the look with a bold royal blue collared
top beneath. With its bright colors and Corrin‘s
new bleached bob, the actress most certainly made a strong
sartorial statement with the help of
stylist Harry Lambert. Forming the brand around the concept of
a circle, the look also promotes the design codes and DNA of the
upcoming label with a circle taking centerstage of the
piece. Serving as
Ribeiro’s red carpet debut, the unique and daring ensemble most
definitely made a splash.

While
Corrin,
Mbatha-Raw, and
Beckinsale hardly being the only stars to step out in style,
they undoubtably stole the show. Honoring both everlasting legends
and trailblazing new up-and-comers in British
Independent film, the 24th annual British Independent Film Awards
saw all walks of cinematic life step out in style.
