According to the official statement, His Royal Highness proposed on Wednesday, 16 August 2022, with the blessing of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah.

“The engagement took place at the home of Ms Rajwa’s father in Riyadh, and was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince El Hassan bin Talal, Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, and Prince Rashid bin El Hassan, in addition to members of the Al Saif family,” wrote The Royal Hashemite Court in its official statement. Adding that, “it extends its sincere congratulations to Their Majesties on this occasion, and wishes His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Ms Rajwa a lifetime of happiness.” The Royal Hashemite Court is not the only official to release its statement addressing the happy news. Queen Rania quickly sang her praises to her son and his wife-to-be in a teary Instagram post. “I didn’t think it was possible to hold so much joy in my heart,” wrote Queen Rania, adding a “congratulations to my eldest Prince Hussein and his beautiful bride-to-be, Rajwa.”

His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Jordan is next in line to the throne and, as such, Ms Rajwa Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif of Saudi Arabia will one day be the reigning Queen of Jordan–making this announcement all the more exciting. This happy news comes just weeks after Princess Iman of Jordan accepted the engagement of Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, which means two royal weddings are on the horizon. Our sincerest congratulations to the Royal Family as they continue to grow in abundant love and happiness.
