On Monday, May 9th, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah were honoured with the Path to Peace Award in New York while on their trip to the United States. This award was presented by The Path to Peace Foundation in collaboration with the Holy See Mission with the goal to spread the message of peace across the world.

This prestigious award recognises Jordan’s work and commitment to religious tolerance, harmonious interfaith, overall peace, and humanitarian efforts to generously continue to host refugees for the betterment of the community.

The Path to Peace Foundation Gala had previously been delayed three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but since 2021 it has restored its yearly tradition. For the 2022 ceremony, both their Majesties King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah represented the people of Jordan and received the awards with prestige.

When His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein took the stand to receive the award, he shared plans for his continuous efforts in peacekeeping and peacemaking.

“Upholding the historical and legal status quo at Jerusalem’s holy sites is essential for peace,” King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein said. “Our journey on the path to peace must travel through Jerusalem.”
