In honour of International Women’s Day, Her Majesty Queen Rania hosted a group of Jordanian women from across the country for a luncheon at the Al Husseiniya Palace, where His Majesty King Abdullah made a special appearance alongside the Queen. Footage taken from the Queen’s official Instagram account show her welcoming and greeting Jordanian women, who were all seen wearing the traditional Jordanian dress.

As the King and Queen sat side by side amongst a group of women, they discussed the vitality of women’s roles in the success of the country. According to a statement by the Royal Court, King Abdullah emphasised on the “vital political, economic, and cultural role of women in Jordanian society, adding that they are an example of generosity and achievements.” Their Majesties also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting women across the country in different roles. In a video, the Queen appears to pay a touching tribute to the women of Jordan in Arabic, translating to, “together, we celebrate all of Jordan’s women and we celebrate one man. Whether on a personal or national level, there is no one that believes in us as much as His Majesty the King believes in us.”

Her Majesty the Queen took to her Instagram to share a heartfelt message along with a photo beside the King, sharing “with His Majesty today while hosting a group of women from across Jordan over lunch in celebration of International Women’s Day. Proud of the women that pour love into everything they do!”

The Queen appeared wearing a white long traditional Jordanian dress, more commonly known as a thobe, with gold stitching and details. It’s also no secret that Her Majesty is dedicated to supporting local emerging talents, and this time was no exception as she was seen carrying a taupe leather bag by Jordanian female designer Dara Hamarneh, which you can shop for yourself.

Her Majesty Queen Rania has always been an inspiration to not only Jordanian women nor Arab women, but women from across the world. Wishing her along with every other hard-working and empowering woman a happy International Women’s Day.
