His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, along with the Royal family and the Royal Hashemite Court celebrated Jordan’s 76th Independence Day yesterday among fellow Jordanians in a special celebration. The official nation-wide celebration commemorating this monumental occasion began on the 25th of May and will last three days, as announced by the Prime Ministry.

His and Her Majesties attended a dedicated celebration for Jordan’s 76th Independence Day yesterday that featured national artistic and musical performances by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, as well as other artists, and air shows by the Royal Jordanian Falcons and Royal Jordanian Air Force. The celebratory night came to an end with a fireworks show in honour of Jordan.

On Wednesday, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein addressed the nation and gave his best wishes to Jordanians in honour of the occasion. In his speech, His Majesty recognised Jordanians’ perseverance and great achievements, as well as the Jordanian army and security agencies’ commitment to safeguarding the homeland’s human dignity, freedom, and rights. As a token of his appreciation, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein also bestowed royal medals on distinguished Jordanians and institutions as part of an annual tradition.

During his address to the nation, His Majesty mentioned that the new Jordan will belong to younger generations. Their determination, knowledge, and openness to new ideas will influence future and global development trends including the economical, political, and administrative tracks.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah expressed her best wishes stating “May God preserve your glory Jordan… And every year and everyone whose heart beats with love for Jordan.”

For the special occasion, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah wore a white traditional Jordanian thobe with different tones of pink and purple accents and long sleeves with slits on the sides. Her Majesty accessorised the look with a mini purple triangular handbag and matching dangly crystal earrings.
