In the next bizarre development of this already bizarre situation, a source has told People that estranged partners Elizabeth Chambers and Armie Hammer are “figuring things out as a couple”. It comes almost exactly 12 months after the disgraced actor was accused of cannibalism and rape. Hammer was recently discharged from a treatment facility to seek assistance for drug, alcohol and sex abuse.

“Elizabeth’s priority has always been her children and their well-being. The past year hasn’t been easy, but she and Armie have always had love for each other,” a source tells People. “They’re slowly figuring things out as a couple, but being parents to their two kids will always come first.”

The couple share two children from their marriage of ten years, daughter Harper Grace, 7, and son Ford Douglas Armand, 4. The pair split in July 2020.

Another source for the outlet added, “Elizabeth has always loved him. He is really the love of her life. They obviously had a lot of issues, but Armie’s rehab stay showed that he was committed to big changes. They get along and enjoy hanging out with the kids.”

The actor who will appear in Death on the Nile this month is currently under investigation by the LAPD for a 2017 incident where a woman named Effie has accused him physical assault and rape.

“On April 24th, 2017, Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, during which he repeatedly slammed my head against a wall, bruising my face,” Effie said in a statement in March, 2021. “He also committed other acts of violence against me to which I did not consent. For example, he beat my feet with a crop so they would hurt with every step I took for the next week. During those four hours, I tried to get away but he wouldn’t let me. I thought that he was going to kill me. He then left with no concern for my wellbeing.”

The last we heard from Chambers she was “healing” amid the allegations and reportedly dating an unknown person.
