All eyes were locked on Lil Nas X during their dramatic entrance on MTV’s black carpet. The pop artist singer wore a feather-filled headpiece and skirt by British-American fashion designer, Harris Reed, who debuted this look during London Fashion Week. “It’s something fresh, something new, I feel amazing,” Lil Nas X said during the pre-show awards.

The rappers left the show’s stadium in New Jersey and entered the metaverse, making Video Music Awards history. The pair teamed up with The Bored Ape Yacht Club to complete their set, as they transformed into the brand’s famous NFT apes to perform.
