While Britney Spears has hit back at her mother Lynne, sister Jamie-Lynne and father Jamie since exiting her controversial conservatorship and gaining access to her social media accounts again, the pop star interestingly stayed silent on ex-husband Kevin Federline. That may be because up until this week, Kevin hadn’t attempted to insert himself into Spears’ new life – but the moment of peace was short-lived.

Surprisingly, Kevin Federline has given a three-part interview series with iTV and The Daily Mail secured a first-look, releasing a preview article over the weekend. It’s surprising given Federline has stayed silent about Britney Spears for years now, but Britney’s husband Sam Asghari alluded to the idea that Federline’s “gravy train” would end soon, suggesting that money may be the reason for the now-interview.

Federline’s input is nothing new, really – he disapproves of Britney Spears’ nude Instagram photos, and says her sons Sean and Jayden, 16 and 15 respectively, have chosen to distance themselves from their mother. “The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now. It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding,” he says in the interview series.

Federline also stands by Jamie Spears and the controversial conservatorship he had Britney under, saying it “saved” her life. “I saw this man that really cared, and really cares about his family and wanting everything to be OK. When Jamie took over, things got into order,” he says.

Naturally, Britney Spears is having none of this. She took to Instagram Stories and her feed to share her thoughts on the interview. “It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children. As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone,” she says, adding that she feels the issues between them began “LONG before Instagram”.

Asghari also posted a statement, saying “There is no validity to his statement regarding the kids distancing themselves and it is irresponsible to make that statement publicly,” and adding that Sean and Jayden will soon be 18 and allowed to make their own choices.

It’s yet another blow for Britney Spears, who recently was in the headlines as her mother Lynne and an old childhood friend claimed they had reached out to her during her conservatorship. As Spears prepares to release new music, it seems her troubled past will continue to rear its head over and over.
