Princess Salma bint Abdullah of Jordan is blazing a new trail. As the third child in the Jordanian royal family household, the princess has already established herself on the global stage.

With role-model parents like His Majesty King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, her dedication to causes and movements that live close to her heart has been evident. Though her academic accomplishments to breaking boundaries in the royal air force, she’s only just tapped the surface.

The nation’s first female jet pilot

Completing her theoretical and practical examinations in 2020, she became the Jordanian Armed Forces’ first female jet pilot at just 19 years old. With her proud parents joining the awarding ceremony, she has continued to reach new heights as a first lieutenant in her career.

She went to Her Mum’s school

Unlike a lot of the region’s royal children, who usually opt for private teachings, Princess Salma attending an open-to-all private school in Jordan. Led by her mother, the young princess graduated from International Amman Academy in 2018. With a rigorous International Baccalaureate course and state of the art facilities, we gather the studious royal had an educationally enriching secondary experience.

Learning to value humanity and community from her trailblazing mother, Princess Salma was a steadfast responder in the ongoing Gazan devastation. Holding the rank of First Lieutenant/Pilot, she flew the aircraft that dropped critical medical supplies to the Gaza strip. With encouraging words and blessings from Queen Rania’s Instagram post, she successfully delivered much-needed humanitarian aid to northern Gaza.

Attending one of the world best Universities

While her interests may vary, from serving her nation to exploring ancient cultures, the princess’ bright academic capabilities are undebatable. Graduating from University of Southern California in 2023, she has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Archaeology from the high-ranked institution .

Basically shares a birthday with her older sister

Captioned “My Whole Heart”, Queen Rania posted a joint picture for both her daughters birthdays last year. Four years and one day apart, Princess Salma’s birthday falls on September 26, while her older sister Princess Iman’s is on September 27. The Libra sisters share a close solid bond as they hold their own in the Hashemite family.
