“A well-styled coffee table should feel intentional and connected to the overall interior,” she explains. “It helps to begin with a base element that anchors the composition, this could be a tray, a stack of coffee table books or a sculptural object. From there, build a small arrangement around it rather than scattering pieces across the surface.”
Limiting the styling to two or three carefully chosen objects helps maintain a sense of refinement. “Varying heights, shapes and textures add visual interest. For example, pairing a stack of books with a taller candle or decorative object,” she says. “Equally important is allowing negative space so the surface can breathe. The empty areas highlight the objects and keep the arrangement calm and balanced.”
