At the weekend Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler made their red carpet debut in a pre-Oscars party. For the normally secretive model and actress the moment arrived just four months after she made a surprise split from Australian star, Jacob Elordi. The couple were first spotted on a low-key Sunday morning soon after the breakup and were photographed sharing coffee and croissants in London for Valentines Day.
The couple are yet to take their relationship to the next level – aka Instagram official – but before they do, we take a trip down memory lane on some of the relationships you may have forgotten from the supermodel.
Austin butler
Butler and Gerber started secretly dating very shortly after she split from Elordi. In December 2021 they were photographed a number of times together leading to romance speculation. Butler split from long-time girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens in January 2020 after nearly a decade of dating.
“Austin and Kaia are in fact dating,” a source told People at the time. “All of her friends think they are so adorable and it’s a total step up from her last relationship and she knows it too. She seems really happy. All of her friends think he’s really cute.”
The Elvis actor also received the all-important tick of approval from Gerber’s supermodel mother, Cindy Crawford. An insider for Page Six noted, her parents are “supportive of the relationship and only want to see Kaia happy.”
Jacob Elordi
Next of course is the aforementioned Euphoria star. The pair were first linked back in September 2020 when they were seen dining at Nobu (the hotspot for celebrity spotting) in Malibu. Just four weeks later they went ‘Instagram official’ in October as they dressed up for Halloween as Elvis and Priscilla Presley.
According to reports they ended the relationship due to conflicting schedules. “There are no hard feelings,” a source told In Touch.
Pete Davidson
Eyebrows were raised when it was revealed that the young model was dating Pete Davidson in late 2019. The pair first sparked romance rumours when they were photographed enjoying dinner in October that year. They dated for just four months after attempting to keep the relationship “low-profile”.
In a later interview, Davidson said he blamed himself for the split. “She’s very young, and I’m f–king going through a lot and it was before I went to rehab,” Davidson, then 26, told Charlamagne Tha God in an interview posted on YouTube.
“It’s just like, she should be having fun,” he said. “She shouldn’t have to worry about some dude that just has issues and s–t. She should be enjoying her work.” He added, “It just wasn’t the right place or the right time at all.”
Who wold have thought that two years later he’d go on to date the Kim Kardashian.
Wellington Grant
As Gerber was just entering the public eye as a teen, she was believed to have been dating fellow model, Wellington Grant in February 2018. They were spotted holding hands while walking throughout New York City and Us Weekly had reported that they spent Valentine’s Day together. Neither party ever confirmed the relationship.
