If you haven’t heard of Jessica Sepel then I’m sure you’d be aware of her cult supplement brand, JSHealth Vitamins. The award-winning author and wellness queen (move over Gwyneth Paltrow) was founded from her two-bedroom Sydney home in 2019. Alongside cult and coveted products like the Hair + Energy and, Detox + Debloat Formulas, JSHealth has expanded to included protein products and skincare.

This month and in one of the brand’s most exciting releases to date is a range aptly dubbed Vitamin Hair, a high-performance range of haircare backed by science. The initial launch features two core products, the Purifying Vitamin Shampoo and Nourishing Vitamin Conditioner. To celebrate the release, we asked the founder to reveals her nighttime routine including what she does to look after her own locks.

GRAZIA: Can you describe your night-time beauty routine?

“I really look forward to my nighttime routine and actually consider the whole thing as both a beauty and wellness regime. It allows me to pamper my mind, body and skin, plus sets me up for a calm peaceful sleep – and as we know, it’s called “beauty sleep” for a reason!

It looks like:

Boundaries with my phone – switching everything off by 8-8:30pm is a game-changer for me. Set a time that works for you and stick to it!
An epsom salt and lavender oil bubble bath equals my moment of heaven.
A wholesome JSHealth dinner – balanced, delicious and nourishing!
Doing our four-step Vitamin Skincare System – I do a mini facial using the Gua Sha beauty tool!
Chamomile and honey tea sipped mindfully.
Taking the JSHealth Magnesium or PM+ formula.
Time with my hubby.
Bed by 9.30pm.”

What are the do’s of haircare at night?

“My haircare “dos” at night include: brushing my hair before bed really helps. Sleeping with it in a loose plait to prevent knotting. Using a silk pillow case to minimise hair breakage and I love to add a nutrient rich oil through my hair at night after washing it or pop a leave in conditioner or a mask in the ends overnight to prevent dryness.”

How do you wind down after a busy day?

“Phone off by 8pm. A night walk with my hubby. A bubble bath with epsom salts. My fave television show and no social media!”

How do you decorate your space to assist in falling asleep?

“I believe the bedroom is a sanctuary. I love mine to be cosy so I set my room up with lots of cushions, blankets, slippers and candles. It makes me feel warm and relaxed. No phone in the room or computers. Keep these outside your bedroom. And lavender oil on my pillows!”

What time do you go to sleep?

“9.30pm.”

Do you plan the next day’s look the night before or in the morning? If so, what’s your go-to look for an easy morning the next day?

“Usually it is activewear which also motivates my morning workout! I am super casual and relaxed at work, and I’m currently loving a comfy yet chic tracksuit by Avenue the Label as my go-to office wear. I save fancier suits or dresses for events, media and special occasions.”
