Taylor Swift has landed at the Super Bowl LVIII. The songstress’ attendance at the 2024 championship was hotly contested given the logistics. For Swift to have made it, she was required to race against time to arrive in Las Vegas prior to kick-off. (For the uninitiated, Swift had under 24 hours to fly 5,000 miles from her Eras Tour show in Tokyo.) But as the latest bona fide member of Chiefs Kingdom, the 34-year-old continued as she’s done all season and taken to a private box in the stadium to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce. Dragged headfirst, fearless, indeed.
For the star-studded NFL final, Swift donned a Reputation-coded ensemble littered with Easter Eggs. The recent history-making Grammy Award winner donned a black corset and charcoal denim jeans featuring a bejewelled splice at the thigh from New York-based partywear label AREA. This might seem like an inconspicuous silhouette, but to the trained eye it’s reflective of Swift’s state of mind. (See Swift’s look here.)
As the singer recently announced her eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department, and is perenially promoting her body of work, the monochromatic silhouette hints at the visual language of the record. It’s speculated that the album will chronicle Swift’s perspective during her split from Joe Alwyn, with song titles like “So Long, London” evident that her relationship breakdown with the English actor will be touched upon. Reinforcing this notion are the denim jeans she’s wearing, as the last time she wore the brand was at her first public appearance post-Alwyn at a New York restaurant near Cornelia Street.
The look also teases the upcoming re-recording of her seventh studio album, Reputation, which many Swifties believe will have an impending announcement.
Swift is reported to be sitting in a luxury suite worth upwards of a million dollars to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play against the San Francisco 49ers. It’s also a prime viewing platform for the Super Bowl halftime show, which will see Usher perform a melody of his greatest club hits from the early 2000s. (Plus a possible cameo performance from Justin Bieber). Joining Swift is her best friend Blake Lively and musician Ice Spice. Lively has shown her allegiance to the mid-west team in a red tracksuit from Balenciaga’s recent collaboration with Adidas.

The 2024 Super Bowl will begin at 10:30AM AEST, with Australian fans able to watch the game (and the many cut-aways to Swift’s suite) on Channel 7.
