Sydney Sweeney celebrated her 25th birthday with a very glam night at the 2022 Emmy Awards. The double-nominee arrived in a silver floral embroidered custom Oscar de la Renta gown designed by co-creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim and styled by Molly Dickson. Featuring a scoop neckline and a column silhouette, the gown’s skirt cascaded into a train.

She paired her sparkly gown with more bling in the form of 5-carat collet-set round diamond earrings from Fred Leighton, a platinum diamond band worn at the waist (seen from the open back design of the dress), and a collection of four signed vintage diamond rings from the jeweler. Her shoulder-length golden locks were styled in soft waves, as she went for a glowing beauty look.

This year marks the first year Sweeney has attended the ceremony as a nominee and she snagged not one, but two nods for her roles in HBO hits The White Lotus and Euphoria.

The actress earned a spot in the category for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her role as Cassie Howard in the prestige teen drama Euphoria, as well as outstanding supporting actress in a limited series or movie for Olivia Mossbacher in The White Lotus.

When the announcement was made, the actress posted her emotional reaction and shared a video of herself calling her mom. “What a morning! thank you so much to the @televisionacad for my emmy nominations! It’s an honor to know that both Olivia and Cassie have connected with so many. I’m so proud of both these shows and grateful to everybody that’s been apart of them. But most importantly mom, I love you, we did it through the ups and downs!🥺♥️🥰 thank you thank you!!”

Sweeney told People, she was in pre-production for Madame Webb when the news broke. “I was in the car and my phone started blowing up. I saw it and I called my mom. Then, I called my team, then my dad, then my brother. I was just … sitting in the car!”

She told the outlet she “wasn’t really expecting this. When I fell in love with acting, and when I fall in love with my characters, I don’t really think about the whole award aspect of it. I think there are so many incredibly actors that I was rooting for, so I wasn’t ready.”
