Best Dressed at the ‘Sing 2’ Premiere: Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson on the Red Carpet
‘Sing 2’s LA premiere saw the whimsical cast of the animated film, including Reese Witherspoon and Halsey, decked out in their most bold and spirited ensembles
Like the characters in Illumination’s big time animated hit, the fashions for the “Sing 2” LA. premiere truly sang. With unabashed colors, prints, and frills, stars like Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Halsey, the Mulleavy sisters, and even Bono stepped out Sunday evening to celebrate the film’s forthcoming release on December 22nd.
Reese Witherspoon donned a bright checkered pink and red mini shift dress from Carolina Herrera’s Spring/Summer 2022 ready-to-wear collection with coordinating red pumps. Accompanied by her family, Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe opted for a classic black velvet mini, complete with an embroidered oversized pilgrim collar.
Scarlett Johansson pulled off a Markarian strapless mini dress with bold splashes of reds, pinks, and yellows throughout scattered floral embroidery with the help of stylist Molly Dickson. Comedian Eric André worked a similar color palette in a muted rose corduroy suit with bursts of bright yellow through his printed dress shirt, pocket square, and loafers.
With Halsey donning a white mini corset dress by Kamilla Purshie, its asymmetrical black tulle overlay gave the look an extra dose of drama along with their sky-high platform boots. On the opposite end of Haley’s goth style spectrum, singer Tori Kelly went full princess in a coral Marchesa ruffle tiered gown and a bejeweled Judith Leiber handbag.
With U2’s Bono and The Edge looking as they literally always do, Bono wore a characteristically dark monochromatic get-up with his signature rose colored glasses, The Edge rocked his usual beanie and normcore ensemble. With other pairs like Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy and Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves, this red carpet was fully clad with a whimsical mix of celebs donning their most spirited and lively looks.
