January 6, 2020: Zoë Kravitz is to statement red lipstick as Kim Kardashian is to the razor-sharp contour. The High Fidelity star and YSL Beauty ambassador collaborated with the luxury French beauty brand to unveil her second Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick collection, following the success of her first in August 2019. Dubbed “Red Stories,” the line comprises eight city-inspired shades inspired by her time in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and London.
“I wanted to bring everyone on a journey that would show the key places in my life,” Kravitz says in a press statement tied to the limited-edition lipstick launch. Each shade name pays tribute to her favorite cities like Lost in Marias, in reference to the historic Paris neighborhood and Topanga Sunset, an ode to the wildlife-rich of Topanga, California. The lipstick is housed inside luxe, reflective silver packaging featuring the brand’s signature logo.
YSL Beauty named Kravitz Global Makeup and Fragrance Ambassador in July 2017. “YSL Beauty has always been one of my favorite brands,” she said in a press statement at the time. “Their ability to combine the chicest of styles with a raw edge has always been to me one of the best ways to express yourself through fashion and beauty.” Before earning the esteemed title, she was the brand’s U.S. social muse, a role she stepped into in May 2016.

A true-red and a bright-red, these two NYC-inspired shades are inspired by the city she calls her own.
Kravitz grew up in Los Angeles, and these two hues in pink-red and plum are a testament to the city that raised her.
