Between takes of Die Alive, the new rom-com she is shooting with Jamie Dornan, Zoë Kravitz wrapped herself in a long chocolate suede coat. Underneath, a slim dark top and navy capri pants kept the silhouette sleek and graphic.

The real scene-stealers, however, were on her feet. She chose vintage Prada pumps in leopard-print pony hair from the Fall 1995 collection, with a high vamp that feels incredibly current. A roomy Prada leather tote, recently reissued from that same 1995 archive, completed the picture.

Suede has been the darling of the last two falls, from cropped bombers to swingy trench coats. Thanks to Kravitz, it now has a wild new partner. The pairing works because it balances softness and attitude, setting the velvety warmth of the coat beside the playful spark of the print.

Consider it the coolest fall outfit formula of the year.

Bonnie Cashin’s Suede Meets Dior’s Leopard

Zoë Kravitz and Jamie Dornan are seen filming at the “Die Alive”

In the 1960s and ’70s, American designer Bonnie Cashin turned suede into everyday luxury with soft wrap coats. Leopard had already entered couture in 1947, when Christian Dior put it on his very first runway.

The Denim Shortcut

For a relaxed daytime spin, throw a taupe suede jacket over straight-leg jeans and a crisp white tee. Leopard slingbacks with a pointed toe turn the easiest outfit into something irresistibly polished.

Suede on Suede, Head to Toe

Matching a suede coat with a suede midi skirt in the same warm shade creates a soft, cocooning silhouette. Snakeskin pumps add a sharp, glossy accent that keeps the look modern.

Who Says It Has to Be Leopard?

Zebra stripes bring a graphic twist to brown suede, especially on pointed pumps. Pair them with a belted suede jacket and a printed skirt for a dose of confident glamour.

Flip the Formula

Feeling bold? Let the print climb onto the coat itself. A long leopard suede jacket over a white maxi skirt and plain suede pumps feels joyful and surprisingly easy to wear.

Made for After Dark

When evening comes, swap the long coat for a cropped suede bomber and a midi pencil skirt. Glossy snakeskin stilettos and a matching clutch make it dinner-ready in seconds.

Wrapped in suede and perched on spotted heels, you will turn every walk through falling leaves into the opening scene of a movie.
