Sad celebrity news to kick off the New Year: Zoë Kravitz has filed for divorce from her husband, actor Karl Glusman, after 18 months of marriage. The genetically-blessed pair called it quits late last year, with Kravitz officially filing for divorce on December 23rd. Eagle-eyed fans had already noticed Glusman was conspicuously missing from Kravitz’s Instagram feed during her birthday in December, and across Christmas and New Year—Kravitz’s team confirmed the news to People yesterday.

Kravitz and Glusman married in an intimate but star-studded ceremony in June 2019, after three years of dating. The wedding took place at Zoë’s father, Lenny Kravitz’s, sprawling Parisian mansion, and was attended by Kravitz’s four Big Little Lies co-stars (Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley), as well as Cara Delevingne, Alicia Keys, and Eddie Redmayne. Kravitz wore a custom drop-waist gown by Alexander Wang and a delicate bow in her hair, in what proved to be one of the most stylish wedding dresses in recent memory.

Kravitz and Glusman—an actor who has appeared in films such as Love and The Neon Demon—were introduced through mutual friends in 2016. In an interview with British Vogue in 2019, Kravitz opened up about the night she and her future husband met.  “I love that it wasn’t on an app and that it wasn’t on a movie set,” she said. “My friend knew that I wanted to meet someone—not even to get serious, I think just to get laid, to be completely honest with you—and he brought Karl. I instantly felt something—then he turned around and started talking to the blonde girl next to him and I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ But he later told me that he was just nervous.”

Their low-key engagement took place in February 2018, but Kravitz didn’t reveal the news until that October, telling Rolling Stone: “I was in sweatpants. I think I was a little drunk. I could feel his heart beating so fast—I was like, ‘Baby, are you OK?’ I was actually worried about him! I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris. It was at home, in sweatpants.”

Celebrity divorces are always a little sad, and this one is no different. But at least we’ll always have that wedding dress to fawn over. Let’s look at it again, shall we?
