A model walks the runway for Ralph Lauren during New York Fashion Week: The Shows at on February 12, 2018 in New York City.

As New York Fashion Week rounds out day five, a few brands that are not presenting during the usual Fall-Winter RTW 2022 fashion calendar are making sure fans know that new collections are still coming — and soon.

Ralph Lauren and Thom Browne recently announced the dates of their next shows, in March and April respectively. While another brand, Alexander McQueen which notably shows in Paris, also revealed that the brand will be coming stateside to present its Fall collection next month.

So what’s in store as more brands go off-calendar? Here’s what we know so far.

Ralph Lauren

On Tuesday, WWD reported that Ralph Lauren is hosting an in-person show on March 22 featuring both the women’s Fall collection and men’s Purple Label. This marks the first in-person show the brand’s thrown since its 2019 Ralph’s Club event. Last year, it showed a virtual presentation featuring a performance by Janelle Monáe.

Thom Browne

The brand announced in January that due to COVID-19 logistical delays, it wouldn’t be showing its Fall 2022 collection during a Fashion Week calendar, for the first time in the designer’s history. Instead, it will show on April 29, which will now coincide with the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” part two exhibition (which is curated by Browne’s partner Andrew Bolton).

The designer still managed to be a part of NYFW in a small way, however. On day five, the brand released images showcasing its signature gray and navy tartan, as a sneak peek of the upcoming collection, which will have a “renewed focus on a heritage fabrics,” the release states. The brand’s proprietary tartan (which is  listed on the Tartan registry of Scotland) will soon be included in childrenswear collections too.

Alexander McQueen

The British-based fashion house, Alexander McQueen, announced last week that the Fall-Winter 2022 womenswear collection will be presented on March 15 in N.Y.C. While it usually shows in Paris, the line took its latest show to London in 2021, so maybe more destination-based runways are in store for the brand.

Tom Ford

CFDA chairman Tom Ford announced in January that he had to cancel his February 16 show due to Omicron outbreaks in the brand’s L.A. studio and factories in Italy. He said he was “incredibly disappointed” not to be showing during NYFW, but said he’ll release the collection via a presentation through digital imagery instead.
