Pink attended the 2022 AMAs for the first time in five years in show stopping style — thanks to a little help from illustrious designer Bob Mackie and superstar, Cher.

“I asked @bobmackie and @cher if I could borrow a couple of legendary dresses,” Pink wrote in an Instagram post. First, the songstress walked the red carpet with her husband Carey Hart and their two children Willow, 11, and Jameson, 5, wearing a vintage Bob Mackie dress from 1987 California collection teamed with embellished black platform Guiseppe Zanotti sandals.

The “So What” singer donned a high-neck knee-length glittering fringe frock with a thigh-high slit and a lightning bolt cutout down the middle, separating the black fringe from the gold. According to the designer, the “Earthquake dress” was made with jet sequins and citron bugle bead fringe. “This is the perfect dress for Pink as a performer and for the AMA’s red carpet tonight,” Mackie wrote on Instagram.

Pink opened the show with her new song, “Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” and then, she honored the late Olivia Newton-John with a rendition of the iconic Grease song, “Hopelessly Devoted.”

“I have the honor of celebrating the life of a legend, gone too soon- Dame Olivia Newton-John,” Pink wrote. “She was an icon with a beautiful voice and an even bigger presence, always kind. I look forward to honoring her tonight.”

For the tribute performance, Pink opted for another Mackie confection that was originally designed for Cher’s seventh solo concert tour Here We Go Again which ran from 2018 to 2020. The ethereal blush gown was a nod to the dress Mackie created for Cher’s iconic TIME magazine cover and 1974 appearance at the Met Gala.

Mackie shared a snap of the original sketch on social media, noting that the design was made by Tricorne Inc. and hand-embroidered by Elizabeth Beading.
