Along with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Brad Pitt, Pete Davidson does not have an Instagram account. He deleted his account back in December 2018 months after he split from Ariana Grande. Now it seems the Saturday Night Live regular is back on social media… kind of.
The perfectly curated grid of the Calvin Klein Instagram account was interrupted today with a mirror selfie of Davidson. The post which reaches over 21 million followers was simply captioned with, “I got Instagram”. The comedian was wearing an oversized white t-shirt adorned with the Calvin Klein logo.
That’s not all of course. The brand profile picture was changed to a headshot of Davidson in a CK cap and the bio read, “Pete here”.
At the moment it is unclear exactly what the collaborative duo are working on. Our best guess is a capsule collection or perhaps even a campaign. Longtime friend Machine Gun Kelly commented on Davidson’s photo, “are you gonna post us in our undies.” A clue?
It is not the first time The King of Staten Island actor has dabbled in the modelling industry. He walked for Alexander Wang in 2019 and just recently the 26-year-old posed in matching pyjamas for girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s own underwear brand, Skims.
If anything, the carefully planned PR move is a clever one. After all, Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta went dark on social media in January 2020 and it has never been so popular. Sartorial distance makes the heart grow fonder it seems.
Davidson has had a huge few months after he was rumored, and rumored, and rumored to be dating Kardashian.
“Pete has told her he doesn’t want to see anyone else,” a source for E! News said on November 19, noting Kardashian apparently feels the same. “She is telling some people they aren’t super serious but she isn’t seeing anyone else… She’s trying to not make a big deal about it but is super into him.”
Stay tuned for developments.
