As we race toward the end of summer (how is it nearly September?), a seasonal change in your beauty look is in order. In a recent post, beauty entrepreneur and one of the most well-dressed New Yorkers Olivia Palermo reminded us of the elegant way a pink eye shadow can be worked into an everyday look.

While many of us warm to earthy tones in the hotter months—chestnuts, chocolates and burnt taupes—we tend to stay there for the Fall, rooted in their collective familiarity. But Palermo has us inspired to try something fresh for next month: a dusted down, crepe pink shadow for the eye to brighten even the most monochrome of outfits.

Yes, pink eyeshadow can often get a bad wrap. Seemingly reserved for those 90s supernova types (Hello, Claudia Schiffer), first thoughts these days usually reference a bright, bold smattering of Picciolo’s Valentino pink to the face. But that, dear GRAZIA readers, is not the case here. Palermo’s makeup artist Andréa Tiller, applied Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Eyewear stick in macaron, a pigment rich, ultra-creamy, buildable eye shadow that is crease-proof and blends really easily.

Accentuated by a subtle black liner and a wispy lash, Tiller added a blush pink cheek and lip tint to balance the flush. If you’re looking to shakeup your makeup look for the seasonal change before us, this one is truly a fresh and subtle way of doing so. Palermo has given us so many beauty tips (remember the serum in your lipstick trick? The scarf and mask trick? The time she chopped off all her glorious hair?), but this one may just take the pink icing on the cake.
