While it might seem like every celebrity is getting into the skincare business – because, well, they areMiley Cyrus decided to take a different approach. Rather than launching her own product line like Kylie Jenner, Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lopez, Cyrus chose to team up with an established prescription skincare brand instead.

Announcing her new role as Creative Advisor for Telehealth platform Hims & Hers, Cyrus said her motivation for the move was inspired by her own issues with her skin. “While I struggled a lot with my skin when I was younger, I’ve learned that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all skincare routine — it needs to be personalized,” she said in a statement.

“Hims & Hers makes the entire process incredibly simple, from the initial virtual consultation to the monthly subscription of products tailored just for me. In this new advisory role, I hope to work closely with the company and introduce my fans to an easier, more personalized skincare journey.”

Now Cyrus’ first campaign for the brand – which recently collaborated with Alex Rodriguez on a selection of makeup products for men – has been revealed, with the singer sharing the shots on her Instagram page.

In a caption on the Hers Instagram page, Cyrus expressed her excitement at the new partnership. “Individuality is something I’ve always celebrated and that includes the way I approach self-care. What I love most about Hers is that the company understands no one is the same and that we all deserve unique skin care!” she said.

“Hers has two amazing prescription skincare products, the Anti-Aging Cream and Acne Cream, which are customizable based on skin type and issue. As a Creative Advisor for the brand, I’m excited to be helping connect individuals — and their unique skin and needs — with high quality products that can help them shine on the outside the way they do from the inside!”

Cyrus’ experiences with “bad skin” growing up informed her current approach to beauty.  “I’m so obsessed with being clean. My skin was always so bad that I felt like any time anyone else did my makeup it would just take me back. I think it’s important for girls to just try and really take care of skin and keep it clean,” she said in an interview with Byrdie.

She also admitted to having made some mistakes when it comes to her complexion, adding that one of her biggest regrets was attempting dermaplaning, which involves shaving the peach fuzz from your face. “You know that famous photo of Marilyn Monroe shaving her face? I tried that once because I felt like that was a beauty secret, and it was insane. Don’t shave your face, ever. I walked out looking like my brother,” she said.

That might explain why she’s keen to leave skincare formulations to the experts. Congratulations to Miley on the new gig!
