From Burberry and Supreme to Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga, fashion is seeing a vast amount of collaborations between seemingly aesthetically opposite brands — and honestly, we love it. More than ever before, designers and brands are having an opportunity to work with other labels that otherwise may have been out of the question before. The result is a collaboration that adds a coolness and more accessibility for each label to break into new markets. The latest being Manolo Blahnik for Birkenstock.

The high-end luxury footwear label Manolo Blahnik, which recently celebrated 50 years of elegance and style, comes together with the pièce de résistance of comfortable footwear, Birkenstock. The two meet right in the middle of craftsmanship and practicality on some of Birkenstock’s signature styles, adding lush velvet and dazzling crystals (both Manolo signatures) to the brand’s iconic Arizona sandals and the Boston clog.

For being the pinnacle of high-end stilettos, the legendary shoe designer and his niece, Kristina Blahnik, who is Manolo Blahnik’s CEO, are unexpectedly big fans of Birkenstocks. “Birkenstocks have been in my wardrobe since the very beginning (of time!!)” Blahnik wrote in a statement. “Fusing the Manolo Blahnik aesthetic with the everyday comfort of Birkenstocks is simply wonderful!”

The Manolo Blahnik for Birkenstock collection will be available to shop from March 24.
