Cue Hilary Duff‘s “Come Clean.” It’s been 18 years since Kristin Cavallari appeared on MTV’s hit show Laguna Beach, and now the 35-year-old is getting a chance to re-watch the iconic series alongside her ex Stephen Colletti when they record their podcast, “Back to the Beach With Kristin and Stephen,” which will debut this summer.

“I was a little hesitant at first, to be honest,” the Founder of Uncommon James & Uncommon Beauty, who hosted a weekend-long celebration at Casa Del Sol’s House of the Sun in Amagansett, New York, on June 25 and June 26, exclusively told GRAZIA USA. “I had to sit on it for a while, but I’m really happy that I did it and it worked out with my schedule. It’s been amazing all around. I knew it would be fun, but it’s been even more fun that I ever thought it would be. I’m really happy Stephen asked me to do with him.”

“It has been the most enjoyable experience,” she gushed. “I can do the podcasts in my workout clothes and no makeup from my house, so it’s been a dream job. It’s talking about something that I love, and we essentially pull the curtain back on each episode. We do not hold back! We really go into what filming was like and how viewers didn’t see what the editing process was like. It’s been really therapeutic in a lot of ways.”

Even though a photo of the blonde babe — who shares sons Camden, 9, Jaxon, 8, and daughter Saylor, 6, with ex Jay Cutler — with Colletti went viral in August 2020, Cavallari admitted she and the handsome hunk have “a really deep connection and banter,” but at this point, they’re “brother and sister.”

“I was in L.A. a couple weeks ago because we did a couple of episodes in person, and he brought up a photo album that I made him in high school. We took a walk down memory lane, and it was so sweet. Stephen and I actually dated one year before MTV came, which is when we were at our best. We had a very sweet relationship and that’s been nice for me to look at now as an adult. It was really sweet, special and innocent, and it’s a really nice thing to be able to share with him,” she said.

The cast previously reunited over Zoom in October 2020, and that’s when the Nashville transplant reconnected with some of her old pals, including Morgan Smith and Christina Schuller. “I remembered why I loved them so much in high school,” she admitted. “Jason [Wahler] lives in Nashville — he’s 15 minutes from me, so we get our families together all the time. We’ve gotten really close lately. Talan [Torriero] I have reconnected. I’ve stayed in touch with both Alex Murrel and Alex Hooser over the years. It’s been really nostalgic.”

Though the mom-of-three has been busy in the past couple of years — she starred on E!’s show Very Cavallari, runs her business Uncommon James and made a guest appearance on The Hills: New Beginnings — she thinks it’s “cool” how much fans are still invested in Laguna Beach. “It shows the impact we had, which I didn’t realize at the time,” she noted. “It’s awesome. I really am so grateful.”

“It’s come full circle — it’s what got me here in the first place, and now to go back and do it, it’s been way more fun than I ever thought it would be,” she said.

In the meantime, the entrepreneur is also focused on Uncommon James, which she started in 2017. She first began selling jewelry, but she’s since expanded to beauty products and home decor items. “It’s such a dream come true,” she exclaimed. “It’s honestly surreal — sometimes I can’t even believe it. I really am the happiest having Uncommon James — that’s something I’m professionally most proud of. I do feel like everything that I have gone through in my life has kind of trained me in a way to own my own company, and it’s been a really great feeling. These weekends are fun because they’re just a big celebration all around.”

One of the reasons why Cavallari was excited to have a weekend getaway in the Hamptons is to meet people who genuinely love the brand. “Seeing the response from people is what it’s all about. We did an event in the Hamptons last year, and it was so much fun. It was such a huge success that we wanted to do it again. We’re just trying to have a good time and celebrate Uncommon James!” she said.

The former reality star has dabbled in so many different things, so what is next on her to-do list? “It’s such a good question,” she pondered. “This is the first time in my life where I’m not trying to plan everything out so much. I obviously have goals, but I’m in a phase where I’m just letting life unravel before me. I’m kind of riding the wave. I feel pretty good with where I’m at. It’s more about continuing to grow Uncommon James. I’m really happy.”
