Keke Palmer is a new mom! The actress and her boyfriend Darius Jackson have welcomed their first child — a son named Leodis Andrellton Jackson.
The Nope star shared the exciting news on Instagram on Monday evening, posting a carousel of photos including the first snaps of the new bundle of joy and images of her and Jackson together.
“Hey Son!!!!” she captioned the post before writing blurbs for each photo. The first snap included the new, wide-eye parents with the caption, “Only 48hrs of being parents! 😳.” The second featured a video of Palmer serenading her partner, writing, “Darius always made me playlists when we first started dating, ‘Someone’ by El DeBarge was a favorite. We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God! 😆”
In the third slide, Palmer recorded a video from her hospital bed, with Jackson cradling their newborn as the family-of-three watched a clip of Rolling Ray. “The baby love Rolling Ray, cause purr,” she wrote.
After, Palmer posted a beautiful snap of the family in an embrace, with baby Leodis resting on Palmer’s chest. “’I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world.’ Hahaha” she wrote, teasing that her baby’s face could not be seen in the photo. “I’m just playing, she wrote for the next image. “My baby face is on this slide.” Wearing a gray onesie, baby Leo is tucked into a bed of blankets, holding a little stuffed elephant. “And this slide 🤣🥹😅😍❤️🙏🏾😇😭,” she wrote for the next snap of the baby with a white beanie on his head.
“Born during Black History Month, with a name to match 😄!,” Palmer closed out the post. “LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”
Jackson shared on social media as well, posting a video of the family driving home from the hospital. “Leaving the hospital with the baby like…” he wrote over the clip of Palmer dancing in the passenger seat to the song “Outside” by MO3 & OG Bobby Billions, flashing the carseat in the back. “Riding out in style w/ baby Leo,” he captioned the post.
Jackson and Palmer have been romantically linked since summer 2021 and after weeks of speculation last December, the Hustlers star announced her pregnancy during her monologue while hosting Saturday Night Live. “I’m especially glad to be here though, because there’s some rumors going around,” Palmer told the audience. “People have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby,’ ‘Keke’s pregnant,’ and I want to set the record straight. I am!”
After opening her floor-length trench coat to reveal her baby bump, Palmer added, “But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited guys — I’m gonna be a mom!”
