Julia Fox burst into the wider pop culture universe through her relationship with Kanye West this time last year, but despite their romance long being over — six weeks of chaos — the actress has managed to continue her reign in the spotlight due to her iconic attitude, adventurous style and no-bulls**t nature.
A few weeks ago, Fox took it upon herself to serve the world a celebrity Architectural Digest home tour palette cleanser, taking her TikTok followers through her small, messy and mouse-ridden New York City apartment in a video that immediately went viral for how real and unfiltered it was. Now, she’s back at it, speaking in an interview with ELLE about Botox, aging and the reasons she’s done dating men.
“I want to be left alone,” Fox said in the piece when referencing dating and sex. “Like, don’t talk to me, don’t look at me, don’t bother me,” she added of men, before picking up her vape. “I don’t know…I feel like knowingly engaging in a heterosexual relationship, you are signing yourself up for an unhealthy dynamic,” Fox continued.
Later in the conversation, she expanded on her thoughts. “At the end of the day, a wife and a prostitute are both doing the same thing, but the prostitute is doing it with different men and the wife does it with the same man — they just put a fancy label on it,” she said.
The 33-year-old noted that power dynamics and toxic men are at the top of her mind when it comes to her 2-year-old son, Valentino, who she shares with her ex-husband, Peter Artemiev. “I’m terrified,” she told the publication of raising her little boy. “I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ I cannot create, I cannot produce another one of these horrible men.”
Elsewhere in the piece, Fox, who is releasing a book later this year, said she’s had cosmetic work done in the past, including Botox and liposuction, but she now wants to embrace aging naturally. “I’m, like, saggy — like, things are not sitting the way they used to,” she said. “But it’s like, I am not gonna do a damn thing about it.”
