Never one to shy away from a daring fashion moment, Jennifer Lopez has done is again. On Thursday, Lopez celebrated the premiere of her new Netflix documentary, Halftime, at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival in a curve-hugging Tom Ford black gown with sheer cutouts in all the risqué places.
The floor-length gown features a turtleneck and long-sleeves with sheer paneling down the sides, up the sleeves and on the middle of the bodice. Styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, Lopez accessorized her look with spectacular teardrop 60-carat diamond earrings and 15-carat diamond triangle ring, both from Lorraine Schwartz, plus a black clutch and sparkling platform pumps.
With hair done by Chris Appleton, the performer sported a half-up-half-down ‘do, with a smokey beauty look executed by makeup artist Mary Phillips.
Later, she suited up for Tribeca Film Festival’s opening night afterparty in a white henley top, white jeans, and a coordinating white blazer for a crisp monochromatic look. The superstar slipped into a pair of sky-high silver shimmering platforms for a dose of glam and kept her red carpet beauty look intact.
Her new documentary chronicles the prep behind her memorable 2020 Super Bowl Halftime performance alongside Shakira, and promises to reveal moments from Lopez’s personal life. According to Netflix, fans will see her “journey as a mom, Latinx creative and woman on the other side of 50.”
The trailer shows Lopez rehearsing with her back-up dancers and practicing her moves on the pole. There’s even a cameo from her fiancé, Ben Affleck. At one point Lopez talks about living in the public eye, to which Affleck is interviewed saying, “I said to her once, ‘Doesn’t this bother you?’ and she said, ‘I expected this.’”
As she trained for her big performance, she says in the trailer, “I do this to connect with people and make them feel things. Because I want to feel something.”
