Alicia Silverstone’s iconic Clueless character, Cher Horowitz first whined the words, “You don’t understand! This is an Alaïa! It’s like a totally important designer,” back in 1995 — and all these years later, the sentiment remains true.
Jennifer Lawrence took notes on Wednesday afternoon, when she attended the No Hard Feelings Spanish premiere in Madrid, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, looking impossibly chic in a classic white button-down shirtdress from Alaïa, styled by Jamie Mizrahi.. The Pieter Mulier design featured rolled sleeves, a flared miniskirt and a cinched waist with a black elastic corset belt from the brand.
Lawrence accessorized with black sunnies and completed her look with a pair of black Manolo Blahnik mule kitten heels sandals. She styled her strands in effortless beach waves in a middle-part.
On Monday, Lawrence attended the London premiere of the film, wearing an embellished black Dior gown from the French fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection, featuring a semi-sheer high neck sleeveless top with a visible strapless black bra underneath.
With dainty floral beaded appliqué emblazoned throughout, the gown was tied with a thin black patent leather belt at the waist. The Academy Award-winning actress teamed her look with black pointy-toe pumps and black opera gloves.
In No Hard Feelings, Lawrence stars as Maddie, a young woman on the brink of losing her childhood home. When she discovers an interesting job listing in the paper, Maddie meets a couple of wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to “date” their son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) before he heads off to college.
It marks her first film since becoming a mother (she welcomed her son Cy with her art gallerist husband Cooke Maroney in February 2022). “I had just had a baby, so I definitely wasn’t planning on working, [but] I read the script and it was just too funny. It was the funniest thing I had ever read,” Lawrence told Good Morning America.
The Oscar winner will star alongside, Feldman, Hasan Minhaj, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Matthew Broderick, Natalie Morales and Laura Benanti in the Gene Stupnitsky-directed feature based on a real Craigslist ad.
No Hard Feelings hits theaters June 23, 2023.
