During the season 2 finale of Euphoria, which aired on Sunday, February 27, some storylines wrapped up, while others needed more answers.
Ashtray (Javon Walton) decided to kill Custer (Tyler Chase), as he tried to rat out Ashtray and his older brother, Fezco
(Angus Cloud) to the feds. As a result, Ashtray ran to the bathroom with guns, which Fezco begged him not to do.
When a S.W.A.T. team raided the apartment, Fezco is seeing banging on the bathroom door, telling his brother to surrender and not kill anyone else. During the shootout, Ashtray hits Fezco, who is seen bleeding out in the hallway. Then, Ashtray was shown being killed off-camera — but viewers never actually see the body.
However, Walton hasn’t come to terms with the fact that his character might make it back for season 3.
“Man, I just hope he’s alive,” the actor told Esquire. “Because I’m sure he didn’t just get shot one time by taking cover in the bathtub and getting shot through the wall.” He adds, “You know that Fez needs Ash, and Ash needs Fez. They both really rely on each other, so it’s going to be really hard for both of them.”
“With Fez in jail, I feel like he’s going to get out no matter what,” he continued. “I don’t know how, but I feel like he’s definitely going to be able to get out somehow. And Ash is definitely going to find a way back to him because that’s the person he cares about most to him. That’s what I would want to happen, is for Ash and Fez to reunite. People love the Ash and Fez duo. The Fesh train!”
But according to Cloud, he believes Ashtray is gone for good. “It was a sad day ’cause we really close,” Cloud revealed. “Javon, that’s like my little bro in real life. That’s my bro. That’s fam.”
As for what happened to Fezco, it looks like he is still alive. At the end of the episode, we see him being taken out by the cops. It’s unclear if his relationship with Lexi (Maude Apatow) will flourish next season — but we hope they can pick up where they left off!
