Throughout his Don’t Worry Darling press tour, Harry Styles opted for nautical and eclectic looks but now, the Harry’s House artist is going for something a little sleeker. On Tuesday evening, the musician stepped out at the Regency Bruin theater in Los Angeles for the premiere of his latest film My Policeman in a streamlined Gucci ensemble from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 ready-to-wear collection.

Styled by Harry Lambert, Styles adorned a tailored utilitarian ensemble, complete with a black jacket with a Mandarin collar under a silver buckled belt, slim-cut pants, and polished black patent leather boots.

A close friend of the brand, Styles’ plethora of Gucci looks normally pull inspiration from the 1970s glam-rock aesthetic. But last night’s appearance brought a simplistic modernity to the rocker’s red carpet portfolio.

Starring alongside Emma Corrin and David Dawson, the forthcoming Prime Studios production is directed by Michael Grandage and based off of the 2012 romantic novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts.

Set in Brighton, East Sussex, in 1957, Styles plays the titular character of the closeted police officer Tom Burgess. He begins a serious relationship with schoolteacher Marion Taylor (played by The Crown‘s Corrin), and is caught between the life he’s expected to lead and the life he wants, with museum curator Patrick Hazlewood (portrayed by David Dawson), which stirs a tortured love triangle between the three parties.

Jumping between two time periods,

The film jumps between two time periods, when relationships are still bourgeoning and then 40 years later, when Marion decides to take Patrick in to her and Tom’s tense household to nurse him back to health he suffers a stroke.

My Policeman premieres on Amazon Prime on Nov. 4.
