You hear that sound in the distance? That gentle wind that sounds like it’s just speaking to you? Yeah, get ready: That’s the sound of Rihanna‘s Fenty Beauty moving into perfume with the first Fenty eau de parfum launching next Tuesday, August 10. This Is Not A Drill: Fenty Perfume is coming, and it’s nothing like you’ve ever seen before.

We announced the sneak peek last week, but now we’ve got more details and we couldn’t wait to spill all the tea for you. Per the brand, “Fenty Eau de Parfum captures the complex, vibrant, and sensual essence of its creator, Rihanna. Defying categorization, Fenty Eau de Parfum is spicy and sweet all at once and is designed to be worn by all people, for all occasions.” The fragrance is “inspired by distinct memories and places that Rihanna cherishes from throughout her life – Bridgetown, Barbados; Grasse, France; New York, New York; Paris, France; Los Angeles, California,” and was designed by the Bad Gal “as a scent personal both to herself and to others. It evokes the memories, connections, and experiences unique to each person through the power of scent.”

Considering that just last week we wrote about the power of scent memory, Fenty Eau de Parfum sounds dangerous, even more than a revenge fragrance. Can a fragrance be designed to take out all of its enemies? Ugly Betty had a fragrance that made a woman lose her mind, so that truly makes me believe if Rihanna’s behind it, anything is possible. Rih traveled to the world’s fragrance capital, Grasse, France, to work alongside world-renowned LVMH Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud in the development of Fenty Eau de Parfum, which truly might be that cool kid in high school that hung out with every single clique, got good grades, teachers loved them, yet never once showed up to class. “That’s the thing I love the most: It’s an experience, it’s a memory, encapsulated into a fragrance. One smell, you’ll never forget it,” Rihanna said in a press release provided to GRAZIA.

The fragrance is a combination of magnolia, musk, tangerine,and blueberry, with hints of Bulgarian rose absolute, geranium and patchouli, this is a unique scent truly unlike any others on the market right now. The bottle is a sultry amber color, full of hard edges and soft curves, designed to fit perfectly in your palm. It’s supposed to be a dichotomy in of itself: Masculine and feminine, vintage and modern, representing true balance. “I wanted a rich color that really represented all genders from across all walks of life. Brown is my favorite color. Brown is who I am. Brown is what I come from. If I’m going to make a fragrance that represents me, even the body language of the bottle needs to marry that. So, I wanted something brown, but also transparent — so you could see the liquid and the fragrance you’re about to experience,” she said in a statement.

Truly, I would go on any experience Rihanna asked me to. This is so much more than a perfume: It’s a transformative experience.
