Coach Fall 2021 Collection

For its fall 2021 collection, Coach,  the original American house of leather since 1941 ,tapped its glamorous network of ambassadors — Think Megan Thee Stallion, Michael B. Jordan, Jennifer Lopez, Tavi Gevinson, Cole Sprouse, Rickey Thompson and more — to remind us just how American the brand is with a wave of nostalgia.

Called “Coach Forever Season Two,” the fashion film (shot by Juergen Teller) opens with Lori Harvey’s beau, Michael B. Jordan, laying on what we can assume is his grandmother’s couch (there are artificial flowers and plastic still on the furniture) flipping through the Coach TV channels while showcasing the limited-edition ‘Buy It Now’ pieces. First he lands on a faux Friends, then a version of Mean Girls starring Hot Girl Megan Thee Stallion as a Black Regina George, a Coach-ified version of the home shopping network with the “Let’s Go Loud” singer JLo and Thompson shilling the cozy collection.

There is an ease about the pieces thanks to its true-to-life styling. Sure, there is a case to be made for art imitating life but right now, we like Coach’s version of life on the small screen. Don’t you love when you mimic art? Honestly, Quarantine dreams are made of these Coach looks and we like this dreamy version of our lives. There were leather and shearling jackets repurposed atop long johns (not unlike an IRL version of what we would wear on a trip to the grocery store).

“I have always loved exploring the intersection of fashion and pop culture at Coach,” creative director Stuart Vevers said, in a statement. “I am excited to bring my latest vision for the house to life via ‘Coach TV.’ I wanted both the collection and the presentation to make sense and resonate in these unique times and I am excited to share both in a way that I hope will entertain and inspire.”
