Last month, Christian Siriano debuted his color-filled Resort 2023 collection that followed the brand’s quintessential DNA we’ve all come to love. Alongside the collection staples, Siriano subtly snuck in a few pieces as part of a capsule collaboration with Malibu-based sustainable it-girl label Bleusalt.
The capsule collection, which officially launches today, is Siriano’s first go at working with sustainable materials in his collections. The CFDA designer worked with Bleusalts signature fabric, Tencel fibers, to create the eight piece collection filled with beautifully draped tops, dresses, and flattering ruched skirting, fusing his elegant tailoring and designs with the ease and comfort of Bleusalt.
“I am so thrilled to introduce this very special collaboration with Bleusalt, a brand that I truly admire for its commitment to sustainable, local manufacturing–values that we share.” said the Founder and Creative Director. “I had so much fun reimagining Bleusalt’s incredibly soft, signature material into the brand’s first assortment of formalwear–creating elegant, versatile pieces that offer a more accessible, relaxed take on event dressing, which I love so much.”
To bring the collection to life, it only made sense to take it to Bleusalts founder Lyndie Benson’s home of Malibu beach. The two designers enlisted Siriano’s longtime friend and Cali girl Alicia Silverstone to model the pieces in a series of photos.
“I’ve followed Christian’s work from the very beginning and have been a big fan ever since,” said Benson. “His talent and work ethic is truly inspiring. He celebrates women of all ages, sizes, and shapes and has done an amazing job at advocating inclusivity. We’re aligned on similar values for our brands, and working with him was a creative dream. This partnership has helped us take Bleusalt into a new and elevated realm for our customers that we are very excited about.”
