When it comes to Christian Siriano runway shows, fans can be sure to expect an array of his A-list friends sitting front and center, and a number of big-name models commanding the catwalk in dramatic gowns. Both were on full display at the designer’s Fall-Winter 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection on Saturday.
Located on the concourse level of the Empire State Building, Siriano showcased his latest line, which he dubbed, “Victorian Matrix” featuring a lot of on-theme latex and corset-style bodices.
According to his show notes, the name refers to the time we’re living in right now, with some days feeling Victorian-era and others, like the Matrix. Siriano said he pondered what the future looks like amid the ongoing pandemic when he was designing, but hopes what comes through in his work is that “fashion remains powerful and dreamlike, and can become the reality if we let it happen, despite the circumstances.”
What was clear was his A-list friends were excited to see his dream-like creations on the runway. Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham couldn’t help but express excitement for looks that caught her eye during the show, as she chatted with Drew Barrymore in the front row.
Actresses Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Danielle Brooks, Anna Chlumsky and MJ Rodriguez, and RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s Aquaria and Symone also made up the buzzy sea of stars sitting front and center.
On the runway, veterans Coco Rocha and Karen Elson both commanded attention, even staging a mini pose-off during their final walks, both pausing for a minute to strike dramatic poses in front of the celebrity cheering section.

Siriano may have wondered what the future of fashion looks like this season, but he’s proving bold and standout looks are never going out of style.
