Fashion proves to be synonymous with the cultural and social moments of our daily lives. Last year fashion pivoted to focus on athleisure and leisurewear in response to strict quarantines and WFH way of life. We are now entering a new post-pandemic era deemed the “Roaring 20s,” After the past year, people are ready to go out again. And brands are taking note of this as they release new collections. First, it was Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2022 show, and now, Chanel’s Electro Capsule collection.
Taking signature styles from Chanel’s watch collections and nodding 90s nightlife culture, Director of the Watchmaking Creation Studio, Arnaud Chastaingt introduces a rave-ready capsule for the nightlife aficionados. “I conceived this capsule collection like a performance program, inviting our classics, the J12, PREMIÈRE, CODE COCO, and BOY·FRIEND, to perform side by side on this stage, drawing their inspiration from the codes of this world,” he explains.
The limited-edition capsule launched during pride month. The energy of electronic music takes form in multicolored sapphires, steel chains, and electrifying highlighter-neon straps. Chanel’s J12 (considered one of the most luxury timepieces) is reinvented in black, highly resistant ceramic and steel model with accents of vibrant color in its numerals. The iconic CODE COCO comes in a neon pink quilted pattern leather strap with black braiding accented with a princess-cut diamond. And the BOY·FRIEND watch comes in a steel version with 142 brilliant-cut diamonds and is embellished with a robot motif, while the PREMIÈRE chain bracelet watch is interwoven with multicolored leather.
