Every once in a while, Hollywood’s hottest stars all start experimenting with their signature strands and going for the same standout styles — whether it was the lob of years’ past, or dusty rose pink phase. Now, thanks to stars like Sydney Sweeney, Sophie Turner, Kendall Jenner and Barbie Ferreira, it’s all about amber-red hair.
It first caught our attention when Jenner switched up her brunette locks during fashion month, walking in the Prada show with auburn strands. Turns out, it wasn’t just for show. She continued on to Paris rocking the red hue, and keeping her freshly-dyed hair in tact on the Parisian runways as well.

After Jenner’s switch-up, we couldn’t help but notice the hue everywhere. Also at fashion week, Turner arrived to the Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2022 show, along with husband Joe Jonas, with her hair a deeper shade of red than previously seen the past few months when the star was rocking a red-brunette mix. Her sleek and straight strands were a deep, consistent shade of the hue, signaling her commitment to this new hot hair phase.

What’s really turning this into the must-have hair trend, is when the cool kids of Euphoria fame, Sweeney and Ferreira, both dyed their signature locks (blonde and brunette, respectively) to the red shade.

Sweeney appears to have dyed her hair for her new role in National Anthem, showing off the fresh strands in an Instagram post last week where she posed in costume as the character Penny Jo Poplin. On Sunday, she finally showed off her red locks on the red carpet at the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards.
Ferreira first experimented with red hair back in November, sharing a snap of herself captioned, “barbie weasley.” Then she went what appears to be even brighter in January, sharing a selfie of her red locks on full display, and just last week she shared a photo with curly red strands titled, “barbie bradshaw,” as a nod to Sex and the City‘s main character Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
Whether a natural brunette or blonde, red is that perfect in-between hue to make a not-so-subtle hair change-up. Take these stars as your cue to switch it up this spring.
