Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour has taken the world by a silver-hued storm. The dress code for her concerts has been ‘more is more’ with sparkles, and it hasn’t gone over the heads of guests at the Renaissance: A Film premiere in London. Where Taylor Swift went all out in a mirrorball-style dress by Balmain, her friend Blake Lively opted for a more Upper East Side look.

Walking the carpet for photo ops, the Gossip Girl alum wore a black Chanel ensemble from the house’s Fall 2022 collection. The coordinating set comprised a half-buttoned black jacket and a tweed black miniskirt. Fitting the theme, the ab-bearing jacket featured a jagged hemline dripping in silver sequined embroidery.

The actress paired the all-black look with sheer black stockings, including some on-trend gloves, and stood tall in patent black Movidastrap platform Mary Janes by Christian Louboutin. She accessorised with some glittery silver jewels and a boxy Chanel top-handle bag, adding a pop of colour with statement sapphire and diamond earrings.

To beat the London winter, she covered up in a black sequined overcoat that she wore over her shoulders to not obstruct the view of her ensemble.

With her signature blonde hair styled to the side in waves, Lively’s appearance gave us a glimpse into what a more mature version of her character, Serena van der Woodsen, might wear in 2023.

As the character was always known to rewrite the rules of luxury fashion, mixing high and low to nail her effortlessly chic style, it’s clear that you can take the girl out of Manhatten, but you can’t take the Manhatten out of the girl.
