Blackpink‘s Lalisa Manobal has been on a roll with Celine ever since taking the title as the maison’s first ambassador courtesy of Hedi Slimane back in September 2020. Yesterday, Manobal — popularly known by her stage name Lisa also added global brand ambassador for the Celine Haute Parfumerie collection to her list of responsibilities. Clearly, the K-Pop idol takes her role with the French fashion house very seriously.
Just when we thought Lisa’s schedule was already packed, the 24-year old surprised us all by making her runway debut on the Celine 12 Women’s Summer 2022 runway titled “Baie des Anges” French for “Angel’s Bay,” in picturesque Nice. Kaia Gerber walking the show, a given — but Lisa, who’s never walked a runway before, was a refreshing and pleasant take and made complete sense with all her accomplishments with the luxury label. Five minutes into the film, the rapper, dancer, singer, ambassador, and now model took the runway on the historic Promenade des Anglais on the Mediterranean coast in her iconic “Manobal walk,” as her fandom calls it.
Looking as if she’s modeled for years, Lisa strutted confidently in a green varsity bomber layered over a gray hoodie and white top and paired with wide-leg jeans. She sported pastel blue sunglasses and a neon yellow bag to top off her look. The rest of the collection followed suit, with logoed out garments, oversized hoodies worn as dresses, trendy platform sneakers, camo cargo pants — all very quintessential Slimane in his signature casual-luxe aesthetic. Oh and, even trucker hat made its way down the runway — the latest Celine-approved headwear?
