Okay, so we’re back with more BLACKPINK updates. Last week, we spotted Jennie ambling through Los Angeles and mingling her way into two possible international pop crossover hits. And this week, we have some scorching hot news: Lisa’s solo debut will hit airwaves this summer.

According to Soompi, a Korean news outlet, YG Entertainment (the girl squad’s label) has confirmed that Lisa has indeed been in the studio in preparation for her single. “Lisa will be filming the music video for her upcoming solo track this week,” they said. YG has also confirmed that the solo artist to-be will also be releasing more smash hits that she’s stocked in her sonic archive.

Last year, the label announced that forthcoming solo tracks from Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo would follow the October 2020 release of THE ALBUM, their first full-length album ever. The project leaned into their stateside stardom as they heavily drew inspiration from trap, EDM, and hip hop genres while snagging collaborations with Cardi B and Selena Gomez.

Jennie was the first to foray into the solo arena with “SOLO” in 2018, another forthright track title. Rosé’s venture came in March with the premiere of her first solo single album R. With hits like “On The Ground” and “Gone,” the songstress lyrically sorts through the emotions that engulf fame and explores a new level of transparency with the renowned group’s fanbase.

Now, our next round of updates are scheduled to come in around BLACKPINK‘s fifth year anniversary. To commemorate the honor, BLACKPINK The Movie is coming to a theatre near you this August. The film is a part of the group’s “4+1 Project” and will offer us BLINKS exclusive photographs, interviews and never-before-seen footage of The Show and the monumental In Your Area world tour.
