Best Dressed at ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ Premiere: Futuristic Fashion Takes The Red Carpet
‘The Matrix Resurrections’ actress Carrie-Anne Moss takes the cake as best dressed in Oscar de la Renta

No, it’s not a simulation. From Keanu Reeves to Priyanka Chopra, stars gathered for the forthcoming release of the latest in the Matrix film franchise, The Matrix Resurrections on Saturday evening after about 18 years without a new installment. Set to be released on December 22nd, recurring stars brought their A-game to the red carpet (actually, green carpet), when it came to futuristic fashion, as did newcomers to the iconic project.
With Jada Pinkett-Smith in Giambattista Valli and Anok Yai in Jawaya Alleyne, the two made references to the “little red pill” in bold fire engine red ensembles. Priyanka Chopra was a glimmering vision in Halpern while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Bottega Veneta get-up captured the vision of the Matrix so well, it could have doubled as an actual costume featured in the film. While everyone put their best dressed foot forward, the undisputed winner of the night was Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss in a “digital rain” embroidered Oscar de la Renta gown.
Styled by Sydney Lopez and designed creative directors of de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, the custom silk chiffon pleated gown and coordinating cape paid homage to Moss’ legendary Matrix character Trinity. With bespoke embroidery mimicking the “digital rain” featured in the series, the intricate threadwork was crafted from green and silver sequins. While many attendees did well when it came to achieving a futuristic fashion aesthetic , Carrie-Anne Moss’ subtle sci-fi style hit the nail on the head.
