All on board! Have you ever wanted to step foot into the whimsical, cinematic universe of iconic filmmaker Wes Anderson? You know stroll the halls of the magical Art Nouveau style, Grand Budapest Hotel, or the Flemish Revival mansion of the Tenenbaums. Well, now is your chance to experience some of that distinct Wes Anderson stylistic, old world charm. Belmond, the iconic pioneer of luxury travel for over 45 years, has teamed up with the acclaimed cinematographic genius for a one of a kind designed luxury carriage. Paying tribute to both the golden age of cinema and travel, he reimagined the Cygnus carriage aboard the legendary British Pullman. And you can experience the wonderful, emporium of a Wes Anderson set, via booking a journey or chic dinner aboard the coach.

Wes Anderson’s films are iconic both for the directing style and cinematography, as well as the careful attention to detail in set design and world making. His films often juxtapose modernity with old world charm, creating a hybrid Art Nouveau/Art Deco design that exists in a fantastical world, that is of today yet still feels familiar. He’s done the same here with the Cygnus. The carriage is instantly recognizable as a Wes Anderson design through his signature symmetrical lines, unique color pallets, and art nouveau style.  The bespoke design also introduces an elevated guest experience with two new private coupés in the carriage alongside lacquered burl-wood walls, pops of pink (a signature of Anderson) and striking geometric upholstery and carpeting. The collaboration is an organic pairing, with both Belmond and Anderson’s respect for timeless design, with a twist. “At Belmond we are custodians of timeless heritage” says Arnaud Champenois, Belmond’s Senior Vice President, Brand & Marketing. “It is our mission to keep the travel dreams alive by collaborating with the most creative talents, who share our passion for design and craftsmanship. It has been a privilege to work with Wes Anderson who is one of the most captivating story tellers in the world and a true legend.”

“I love trains” Anderson states. “I have often had the chance to invent train compartments and carriages in my movies — so I was immediately pleased to say ‘yes’ to this real-life opportunity, and very eager to make something new while also participating in the process of preservation which accompanies all the classic Belmond train projects.” Guests can experience the Golden Age of Travel while appreciating the beauty of modern design, by booking a memorable journey. Cygnus, named after the Greek God of Balance, features two private coupés that can be exclusively booked for up to four guests — beginning at London Victoria where the Train Manager greets those with priority boarding and ensures free flowing champagne is available throughout the journey. Guests can also travel in the open carriage as part of the regular Pullman experience or choose to book the entire carriage for groups and celebrations up to 26 people.

Pullman Dining by Wes Anderson starts from $545 per person and The Pullman Coupé by Wes Anderson starts from $2,455 per coupé. The full carriage hire price is available on request. Book a journey — or a fabulous dinner — on the Cygnus carriage designed by Wes Anderson here.
