Timothée Chalamet is back. Following the actor’s appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this week for the premiere of The French Dispatch, a new look at the upcoming film has been released. Cue Chalamet in a bath tub. Need we say more?

Wes Anderson’s latest film is a love letter to journalism from the 20th century and will follow a collection of stories that were originally published in The French Dispatch magazine. It also stars Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson.

In a small black-and-white snippet of the film shared to social media overnight, McDormand appears as ‘Lucinda Krementz’. Wiping makeup off her face in the bathroom, she discovers a moustached Chalamet’s character ‘Zeffirelli’ writing in a tony notepad in the bath tub (we’ve all been there). The duo engage in some humorous chat and Chalamet runs out of the bath naked (yes, really).

The French Dispatch is arguably the biggest film to come out of the Cannes Film Festival. Along with a slew of four and five star reviews, the film is Anderson’s latest since Isle of Dogs in 2018. It’s Chalamet’s first film since appearing in the 2019 adaption of Little Women. The 25-year-old is also slated to appear in Dune and Wonka this year.

As for McDormand, her highly-anticipated appearance comes off the back of her performance in Nomadland where she won the Oscar for Best Actress earlier this year. She will also appear in Macbeth and is slated to appear in the film adaption of the celebrated novel Women Talking.

The film will hit cinemas on October 21 2021.
