Bella Hadid has a special skill of knowing just how to give vintage and throwback looks a modern twist to make them cool and relevant again. She displayed her keen eye for vintage recently at the recent 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where she wore vintage Gucci, Chanel, and Versace. At the same time, her off-duty looks has been rooted in resurrecting Y2K staples, like cargo pants, tracksuits, and sheer fitted tops.

The model’s latest look brings her love for secondhand finds and Y2K trends harmoniously together. Hadid shared new selfies on Instagram, while subtly promoting her non-alcoholic drink, Kin Euphorics, sporting a Rocawear tracksuit, perhaps one of her Depop finds? For those of you who aren’t familiar, Rocawear was a ’90s to early 2000s brand founded by Jay-Z and Damon Dash that quickly staked its claim in the hip-hop industry.

Hadid’s look, in particular, was a velour number in black, pink, and gray. The model, who styles herself when she’s off-duty, chose a sporty look she’s been loving lately (see her Y2K tracksuit revival, here). She wore the jacket open with a white baby tee underneath.

To further prove her love for all-things Y2K, she paired the look with a pair of light gray and baby pink Nike Shox, the iconic style that the brand stopped producing in 2017 but made its return on London-based label Martine Rose Spring-Summer 2023 runway in a mule iteration earlier this month.

Bella isn’t the only one in the fashion industry obsessed with nostalgic fashion. Earlier this year, American rapper and record executive Sean Combs (better known by his nicknames Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, or Diddy) bought back the majority stake in his iconic early 2000s label, Sean John. If you were one of the lucky few to hold on to your threads from the early aughts, now seems like a good time, if any, to pull them out and reintroduce them into your wardrobe.
