Balenciaga

Believe it or not, we’re a quarter through 2022 already. Although time may seem to be flying by, 2022 has been nothing short of eventful and has led to much success for many designers, some more than others. Global shopping platform Lyst does all the work for you to identify those designers via its handy quarterly trend report — and as of today, they released their 2022 Q1 trend report

Topping the charts for hottest brand of Q1 enters: Balenciaga — or shall we say, remains Balenciaga. The luxury label reigns supreme for the third consecutive year in a row, with a 108% increase in demand, which comes as no surprise given the much success creative director Demna has accomplished. In these past couple of months alone, we’ve seen his recent Fall-Winter 2022 runway that encapsulated models in a snowstorm to represent hardships and pay tribute to Ukraine, to collaborating with his longtime friend Kanye West (err… Ye), and Kim Kardashian sporting pieces straight off the runway for public appearances, just to name a few accomplishments.

The rest of the ranking is filled out with top ten regulars: Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, Moncler, Bottega Veneta, and Fendi. Valentino joins the top ten after placing eleventh in 2021 Q4, which Lyst credits to the label’s all pink and black FW22 show, which launched their first conscious-driven sneaker, and naturally, Zendaya starred in the Spring ’22 campaign. The biggest breakout is undoubtedly Miu Miu, who jumped ten spots from number 20 in Q4, which is without question accredited to the viral mini mini skirt sets.

The main takeaway from Lyst’s Q1 2022 trend report? It’s Demna’s Balenciaga world, and the designer has no plans on slowing down anytime soon. The report also dives into the top products, including the Prada Triangle Shoulder Bag, Naked Wolfe knee-thigh heeled boots (A TikTok favorite) and Valentino Garavani Tan-go platform pumps.
