Angelina Jolie is leaving the wine business – and right when every celebrity and their mom is joining it.

The actress has filed documents asking for a judge to lift a restraining order on the transfer of assets owned by her and estranged husband Brad Pitt in order for her to sell her share.

TMZ first published the news, revealing that the asset the mom-of-six wants rid of is Nouvel LLC, the French winery company founded in 2013. Miraval Wines was named after the chateau on which the grapes are grown, Chateau Miraval, a 1000-acre spot in Provence.

The freezing of assets is common procedure during divorcing proceedings but Angie reportedly has an interested buyer and the deal is on the table now, meaning she needs to be able to sell.

It was alleged that Angie’s lawyers notified Brad’s legal team in the hopes of not needing a forma hearing but it was alleged that although the Oscar winner’s attorney said he would put the request in, Angelina went ahead and contacted the judge directly amid fears she would lose the deal. The request has yet to be approved.

Miraval Wines is widely beloved in wine circles, and the year they launched Wine Spectator placed the Jolie-Pitt & Perrin Côtes de Provence Rosé Miraval wine at number 84 in the world – the highest placement for a rosé.

Alcohol has become a hot commodity for celebrities in recent years, with Blake Shelton launching his own vodka brand, Dwayne Johnson selling tequila under the Teremana name and Kendall Jenner revealing she had quietly been working on an award-winning tequila, 818.

George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s Casamigos tequila has become one of the most well-respected liquors in the world, and the pair sold the brand to Diageo in 2017 for a cool $1 billion.
