And Just Like That will wrap up in two weeks, and it’s a bittersweet moment for the cast and fans, as this could be the last time we see Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) all together.

It’s unclear if the show will be brought back for another season, but Nixon stated that it’s unfortunately not up to her!

“Even though I’m an executive producer and I got to direct an episode, I am not a writer. And so, that is one of the great privileges of being a writer, that it’s not my job to figure it out, thank god,” the actress told Entertainment Tonight when asked about the fate of the series. “You know, it’s my job to say that doesn’t seem right for my character. But in terms of the amazing writers, we have [been] dreaming things up. They know much better than I do.”

Other cast members, including Sarita Choudhury, who plays Seema Patel, is eager to continue the journey.

“Just the other day, I was thinking, ‘I wonder.’ Because there’s a point where they let you know if there is or not and we’re not at that point yet,” she spilled. “I was thinking, ‘God, I hope there is,’ And also, I was thinking, you know when you bring in new characters and you just start establishing and everyone’s getting used to all of us having grown up, Carrie’s grown up. I feel like the second [season] would be able to just jump into who they really are as opposed to getting the audience used to seeing what they’re seeing. So I would love a second season, but I really don’t know.”

Though it was a pleasure to reunite with the old cast and welcome new additions, Nixon said it was tough to deal with when Willie Garson, who played Carrie’s bestie Stanford Blatch, was no longer there, as he passed away from pancreatic cancer in September 2021.

“We just wanted, you know, people to not be distracted or already feel, certainly with the death of Willie Garson, [which is] such a painful thing and already [something] viewers had to contend with. We didn’t want them to be distracted from the fictional characters,” the red-headed beauty noted.

Despite the ups and downs, Nixon declared, “I think we are very proud of our show.”
