On the eve of Adele‘s fourth studio album 30 (read our review here), the singer joined fellow artist John Mayer for a conversation on Zoom for SiriusXM. The notorious bachelor asked the singer whether he should eventually marry. Despite Adele’s divorce to Simon Konecki – which is detailed in her new album – the Grammy-winning songstress urged Mayer to consider it.

Oh yes,” Adele said. “You should get married. Yes, I think it is a really incredible thing, marriage.”

“Yes, I think you should,” she continued. “I can’t really say why, but I’m definitely open to marriage again. I definitely am, and the feeling I had in being married was the safest feeling I’ve ever had in my life and sadly it didn’t work out, but I miss being married.”

Adele, 33 and Konecki, 47 finalized their divorce in early 2021 two years after they first split. The couple share 9-year-old son, Angelo. They remain amicable with Konecki and Angelo both in attendance at Adele’s One Night Only concert this week.

This week, Adele revealed the moment she realized her marriage was over. In her highly-anticipated interview with Oprah, the singer said she was speaking candidly with friends when she admitted she really wasn’t happy.

“We were all answering these questions in this very bougie magazine, and it was something like, ‘What’s something that no one would ever know about you?’ And I just said it in front of three of my friends, I was like, ‘I’m really not happy,’” Adele recalled. “‘I’m not living, I’m just plodding along.’”

The artist added, “I was just so disappointed for my son. I was so disappointed for myself, and I thought I was gonna be the one that stopped doing those bloody patterns all the time.”

Mayer has been the subject of social media hate (again) following the re-release of Taylor Swift’s album, Red. See his perfect response here.
