Did Las Vegas’ ‘Little White Wedding Chapel’ receive another celebrity visitor over the weekend?
During a recent performance at her Las Vegas residency, the queen of Instagram lives, Adele, took time out of her show to introduce someone very important to her: her husband.
For fans of the mononymous songstress, you’ll be acutely aware that Adele has kept her relationship with sports manager Rich Paul quite close to her chest.
The 35-year-old singer, who began dating the 41-year-old agent in mid-2021, has even refused to answer questions about an enormous pear-shaped diamond ring she’s been sporting on that finger, even telling talk show host Graham Norton “as if I would ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t” when questioned about the potential engagement.
Yet, on Saturday night, it seemed that Adele confirmed both their engagement and even teased their secret wedding by calling Paul her husband when a female fan “proposed” to the singer.
The interaction went like this.
Adele: You can’t marry me. I’m straight my love and my husband, he’s here tonight.
Audience Member: Can you try?
Adele: No I don’t want to try, I’m with Rich. You’re crazy. Leave me alone.
Us: 👁️👄👁️
Naturally, Adele’s adherents have flooded her comment sections with questions about this innocuous namedrop.
Perhaps this is Adele’s idea of poking fun at how tight-lipped she is about her relationship by offering up this red herring. Or, this is Adele’s tongue-and-cheek way of updating her fanbase on her relationship status.
Either way, we’re for sure not going to know the truth until Adele well and truly wants us to.
But, the singer could take a lesson from her discography. Adele, if you’re going to spring your surprise wedding on us, could you at least let us down easy?
