In the 2021 news no one saw coming, it appears Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are, very likely, back together.
As in, the couple who split up in 2004. As in, the couple who split up before some of the world’s most famous TikTok stars were even born.
Last week, the early aughts It couple was spotted together in LA, prompting fans to question what on planet Earth could be going on between the two. Yesterday, we got our answer: reports surfaced the pair had taken off to Montana for alone time over the weekend with People confirming, “They have a strong connection. It’s all been quick and intense, but Jennifer is happy.”

Of course, this whirlwind romance—if that’s what it is—comes right off the back of J Lo’s breakup with ARod, AKA Alex Rodriguez. The two dated for four years and were engaged to be married, before calling off their relationship in mid-April, a few weeks after rumors that Rodriguez had been messaging Southern Charm star, Maddison LeCroy.
Naturally, being a hotblooded woman who’d also want to kick a cheating man where it hurts, I have a sneaky suspicion this Affleck reunion might have a little something to do with getting back at ARod… which… appears to be working.
A source close to the former MLB star says that ARod is “shocked” and thought there would still be a chance at reconciliation between himself and J Lo.
“ARod is shocked that JLo has moved on,” the source told E! News. “He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect. He has been reaching out to JLo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”
The outlet added that Rodriguez is “saddened” about Lopez and Affleck’s reunion, and has reached out to her to let her know “he’s upset.”
But as the source put it, “She’s not interested in rekindling anything with ARod and is done.”
Ah, well. Maybe next time he’ll think before DM’ing…
